Description
Welcome to the overachieving version of the Dominator. The Spitfire`s story starts with Chuy Reyna who wanted a board with all the benefits of the Dominator but cranked out even more performance. This vision led to the creation of the Spitfire, a hot rod version of the Dominator. This board still has the fuller foil, increased flotation, low rocker, and wider nose of the Dominator. These features give it excellent paddling speed so you can zoom around the lineup, get into position easily, and catch waves early. These characteristics are also helpful if you surf `sub optimal` waves. It zooms over flatter sections and can maintain speed even if it gets a little weak. For that added zing the signers added a diamond tail and step-down rails. The diamond tail keeps the rail lines a little straighter allowing them to bite into the wave. These straight lines help to add a little acceleration and let the board start running right out of the gates. To make the board even more responsive thinner `step-down` rails help you sink the rails into the wave, and will give you the feel of riding a thinner board. The Spitfire comes standard with a convertible 5 fin setup so whether you prefer thrusters, quads, or want to experiment you`ll be setup fine.
Recommended for beginner to advance surfers in knee to slightly overhead waves. Ride this board 6 to 8 inches shorter than your performance shortboard, or the same size as your hybrid (ex: if you ride a 5`8` Dominator ride the Spitfire at 5`8`).
FST boards come with FCS fin boxes. Firewires are sold without fins.
