Official as of April 17, 2012, Rob Dyrdek best known for his MTV television shows “Rob & Big,” “Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory” and “Ridiculousness” has acquired ownership of DNA distribution. The powerhouse is home to Alien Workshop, Habitat and Reflex Bearings. The rights were purchased from none other than one of the biggest names in extreme sports: Burton. Dyrdek, a 20 year skate industry veteran, entrepreneur and TV legend announced this past Tuesday that he is now the proud owner of DNA Distribution formerly owned by Burton. The brand will undoubtedly continue to grow with Rob Dyrdek’s well known brand loyalty and financial strength in combination with the unparalleled design and quality of DNA’s skateboarding products. Rob’s demonstrated efforts to win public exposure will no doubt allow DNA to continue to grow beyond it’s own borders and strengthen within the skateboarding industry. Says Jake Burton, founder and CEO of Burton Snowboards “It’s been an honor to call DNA part of the Burton family for the past four years, and as we look to the future, I have no doubt that DNA is in extremely good hands given Rob’s history with the brands and the sport. In correlation with the announcement, “Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory” will air it’s final episode of the 5th season on April 23 tying in the news of the purchase by Rob “discovering” that he in fact has real alien DNA.
