BC Surf & Sport heads to 3rd Lair's Top Shop Contest

This weekend, the BC crew will be heading out to rainy Minnesota to take part in the 8th Annual Top Shop Contest put on by 3rd Lair. The contest is an annual trade show/shop vs. shop contest with a ton of awesome stuff going on in between.  Best Trick Contests, Bowl Jams . . . just about everything will be going on at 3rd Lair over the 3-day weekend.

There has always been a smattering of top pros and ams competing and lurking around the contest, so we’ll keep our eyes peeled for any star sightings.  This is definitely one of the funnest weekends of the year, so stay tuned for video, photos, and results to come from the BC Blog.

BC hosts an exclusive sneak peek of Taylor Steele's "Castles In The Sky" Thursday, May 6th

On Thursday, May 6, BC Surf & Sport – Ft. Lauderdale will be hosting an exclusive sneak peek of Taylor Steele‘s newest movie, “Castles In The Sky” at Cinema Paradiso in Ft. Lauderdale.  Advance tickets are available at BC for $5 or the night of the event for $7.  Doors at 8pm – addresses and additional info on the poster above.

Taylor Steele apparently doesn’t take much time to relax as he releases award-winning surf and travel films, one after another.  After just completing a Rob Machado travel profile entitled, “The Drifter” in 2009, he began editing “Castles In The Sky” for this summer’s release.  Taylor’s movies are always jaw-dropping, so make sure you make it down to the festivities for some quality entertainment and a good start to your summer.  Check the preview below for a taste:

New Products: The Loaded Tan Tien is here!

The next step in longboard evolution has arrived and Loaded has an all-around powerhouse on their hands.  The Loaded Tan Tien is a longboard that rides like a skateboard but holds a turn as it slashes through carves like a hot knife through butter.

Flat-spot Free: Bones Wheels Best Trick Contest at Denver Skatepark

Jake Duncombe, BC’s own Adam Dyet, and the rest of the Bones crew took a breather from filming for the upcoming Bones Video to have an impromptu Best Trick Contest at Denver Skatepark last Friday.  Once kids were done swarming the van and pros, Dyet got down to business and handed out set after set of Bones Wheels, switching out all of the youngens’ flat-spotted sets with brand-spankin’ new SPF sets.
